Volunteers
Volunteering
Volunteers are a driving force for us. Whether they actively help those in need or are simply present with residents that need it the most, volunteering at the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home always proven to be one of life’s most rewarding experiences.
Volunteering enables our communities to be involved in enhancing the care experience for every person, every day.
In addition to adding a caring and personal touch to our residents’ experience at NHNH, our volunteers complement the role of our professional staff. They are a critical and valued asset of our organization and make all the difference in the world for our residents
Many NHNH volunteers say they receive far more than they give. Some examples of the benefits of volunteering include:
- Helping and serving those in need;
- Networking with other volunteers;
- Obtaining references for employment, scholarships and bursaries;
- Gaining valuable experience; and
- Making new friends.
As a NHNH volunteer, you can:
- Spend time visiting with residents
- Help with one-on-one activities and mealtime support
- Take part in group programs like walking, reading, bingo, or outings
- And so much more!
